Sophia Amissah Laryea is a Charter Member of the Zonta Club of Accra Metropolitan, The Club was chartered in Accra, Ghana, in 2006.

She is an active Zontian has held several positions in her Club as a Director, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and President. She has served, first as a member, and subsequently as the Chairman of the District 18 Byelaws Committee.

She has also served as the Chair of the District YWPA Committee and as the Secretary to the Zonta Leadership Development Committee.

She has presented Papers on topical matters at Club meetings and assisted in the drafting of resolutions at District Conferences and at the Conventions held in Nice, France and in Tokyo, Japan.

Sophia is a lawyer by profession and currently the Managing Partner of Lexconsult & Company, the first all-female law firm to be incorporated in Ghana, over 35 years ago.

She is a passionate advocate for women’s and children’s rights, and a member of the Federation of International Women Lawyers, Ghana, an organization of women lawyers which promotes and supports women’s and children’s legal rights.

She enjoys reading, writing short stories, plays and Poetry, and music.
