16 Days of activité 25th November 2022

Four Zonta clubs from the Accra area converged on the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in downtown Accra on Friday 25 November to acknowledge the start of the 16 Days of Activism. The dignitaries included Government notables.

UN agencies and diplomatic representatives, including the Australian High Commissioner: HE Berenice Owen-Jones. Our ZI Director, Anne-Marie French-Cudjoe read a statement from Zonta.

The statement called on all actors including government, CSO’s, the private sector, women’s rights organisations and the media to unite to address violence against women. It called for policy changes & laws to better protect women against domestic violence, allegations of witchcraft, forced & early marriage, and sexual harassment in the workplace.

We had distinctive orange Zonta Club of Accra II shirts, signs, and streamers.
